About Leisa
Leisa Dawn Coffman, was born in Parkersburg,
West Virginia on April 24, 1963 at 4:08 p.m. It did not take
long for Leisa's parents to realize that her gifts leaned
toward the arts. Leisa began singing, writing and even dancing
at a very early age often entertaining her parents and older
siblings. Leisa is the youngest and has three older sisters.
As a child she would sometimes travel with her family's gospel
singing trio and perform. Leisa's mother always encouraged
her to sing.
After graduating highschool in 1981
and attending business college, Leisa moved to Napa, California
for a short time then eventually settled in the Columbus,
Ohio area where she has lived for over 20 years. Throughout
the years, Leisa always continued singing and writing as well
as dancing. She developed her own trademarked dance called
Solarhythmical
Dance as an exercise regime.
In her music endeaveors she always
kept her eye on her main goal and and that has been her children.
Leisa is the mother of three children, Chandra, Ciara and
Kenny.
While raising her family, Leisa always
still made time to sing and record her writings through varioius
acitivies. She comments, 'Writing, singing and dancing is
a part of me, it's just like breatheing, I've done it all
my life.' She had the rare opportunity to record in Nashville
and was considered for a record deal in the late 90's. Leisa
comments, 'I just don't think I was suppose to go that direction,
I strongly believe all things happen for a reason.'
Leisa explains that she writes mainly
through her own experiences but also through the experiences
of her loved ones and friends. Her music was produced by Dan
D'Alio at Landen
Studios.
